How To Care for Your Feet

Do you feel the need to take care of your feet or do you wait till something happens? Have you ever experienced blisters or cuts? How did you handle them? How about smelly feet? Did you know that you can prevent your feet from having issues like blisters, cuts and athlete’s feet?

Many of us have skincare routines, and we are diligent at it. We don’t want to see that dark spot or pimple on our faces. We immediately do all we can to kick out skin problems and maintain that perfect skin. But we neglect an essential part of our body- the feet.

For those who work from 9-5, we have our feet cramped up in our shoes for hours, with bacteria harboring daily. We get home after work and cleanse our faces but never our feet. We forget that the feet are a primary contact point for germs and bacteria.

As we have a skincare routine, we can also have a foot care routine. Here are five ways to care for your feet.

  1. Avoid wearing tight-fitting shoes

It’s hard enough to work from 9-5 every day. It’s harder for our feet to stay in shoes all through. To help our feet, we should wear comfortable shoes with really comfortable soles. The tighter our shoes are, the more disadvantaged our feet are. Tight-fitting shoes prevent blood flow in the feet, resulting in swelling of the feet, cramping, or itching. Sneakers with really comfortable soles are excellent.

2. Schedule a pedicure

Your feet deserve to be happy. Schedule a visit with your pedicurist every six weeks. A visit to the pedicurist allows for professional foot care. The pedicurist will help remove the dead skin on your feet, trim and clean your toenails, and massage your feet. Scheduled pedicures ensure that your feet are not brooding germs, and they also guarantee that your feet are relaxed and soft. Make your feet happy. Visit your pedicurist today.

3. Always clean your feet with warm water

You may want to add a spoon of vinegar to warm water for those with sweaty feet and soak your feet. Vinegar helps to eliminate odor and germs from your feet, and you can be confident that there’ll be no odor when you pull off your shoes. Please note that you shouldn’t apply vinegar when you have cuts or sores to avoid irritation.

4. Trim your toenails regularly

Schools advise children to trim their nails to prevent germs. This principle does not apply to children alone; it applies to adults. Long nails are a breeding spot for germs; trim them regularly and keep germs out of your feet.

5. Keep your socks clean

Many people, especially men, prefer to wash their socks once a week just because they wear dark-coloured socks. Dirty socks permit odour on the feet, and you don’t want that. Please get enough pairs of socks and wash them every day.

Don’t forget to rub your feet gently when they are sore, and pay attention to blisters, sores, and cuts. Don’t forget always to keep your feet happy and healthy.
